About the event

Join me at WolfsBayne Brew Crashes #59, 60, 61 & 62!

It's time to visit Pinehurst and Southern Pines! Let's take a drive, stay a few days, taste some good beer, play a little golf or enjoy some spa time.

Pinehurst Brewing Company (Friday 4p)

"The historic steam plant provided power to the Village of Pinehurst at its inception in 1895. Overgrown and long abandoned, we saw a chance to bring the steam plant back to life. To provide a different kind of energy to the Village. A place where neighbors and friends can gather, share a beer, some great food and simply recharge their spirit.

During the extensive renovation, care was taken to maintain as much of the original building as possible. The façade and the unique brick corbeling has been preserved and the vintage arches and windows have all been restored. Inside the brewhouse, the brick walls remain blackened from the decades it housed massive steam boilers. Original valves and pipes have been repurposed as legs beneath tables, light fixtures above the booths or simply remain on the brick walls.

Outside, the smokestack that was taken down years ago has been rebuilt. The trellis above the beer garden is designed to mimic the train track that was used to deliver coal to the plant. The trellis is supported by the same pylons that held the track in the early 1900s.

Pinehurst Brewing Co. is a unique experience, made all the more so by the walls that surround it. We look forward to sharing our special home with you."

Food: "Our smokehouse serves up pulled pork, beef brisket, ribs and chicken smoked on site with high quality Oak and Hickory wood."

Railhouse Brewery (Saturday 1p)

"Railhouse Brewery is owned by Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans and is distributed in North & South Carolina, Georgia, and South Korea. Our iconic American Flag bottle caps distinguish us on the shelves of local grocers and bottle shops as does our focus on malted barley providing balanced beers to the masses. In addition, we have partnered with the KA-BAR knife company of Olean, New York to co-brand our English brown ale. A company over 100 years old with a storied legacy, and iconic knife design which is the best known knife in the world.

The Brewery originally opened its doors to the public in December 2010 introducing locals to flavorful craft beer. The two original founders of the brewery, Brian Evitts (veteran of the U.S. Navy) and Mike Ratkowski (veteran of the U.S. Army)  met as managers of the same company."

Hatchet Brewing Co (Saturday 230p)

"As a small Veteran Owned brewery in the heart of Southern Pines, North Carolina, we founded ourselves with the goal to be a place of community, genuine and selfless relationships, and damn good craft beer.  It started with our service in the military, and we strive to live up to that lineage from the Hatchet Force operations of Vietnam through the more recent Special Operations deployments in Africa and Afghanistan.  Ultimately, we believe that no success is ever achieved alone - it takes a team.  that culture is at the heart of everything we do with our beer, our employees, and our community, what we like to call... #teamhatchet"

Southern Pines Brewing Co (Saturday 4p)

"Passion for service, entrepreneurship, and craft beer is what brought three friends together to start Southern Pines Brewing Company. Micah, Jason, and John met while serving on an Operational Detachment Alpha Team in the Green Berets in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After being reassigned, the three teammates decided to turn in their uniforms for brewers’ boots to start a craft brewery.

Micah took on the role as sole owner in 2019, and continued to follow after the brewery motto of being Rooted in the Community by opening up a second taproom location in downtown Southern Pines in November of 2020. Southern Pines Brewing Company on Pennsylvania further allows the brewery to be in the heart of our community and provide a place for people to enjoy our full lineup of beverages."

Food:  There are plenty of places to grab a bite in downtown Southern Pines. Wolcott's, SoPies Pizza, & Banh-Sen Noodle Bar to name a few.

I look forward to sipping a brew with you!
