I couldn't find an "About Us" section on their site, so this review will have to suffice:

"Altered State is a brewer's brewery. These guys are making unique beers really well, and they have fans among the bigger breweries in the state, as evidenced by the number of different beer brands I saw on display at the grand opening of their Garvey Street location.

Altered State is not a brewery that knows the word "subtlety". Everything they do is to the extreme, and it somehow just .. works.

Want a fruited sour? You're going to have the most fruited sour you've ever had.

Want an IPA? You're going to have the hoppiest Imperial IPA you've ever had.

Want a Stout? You're going to have the stoutest stout you've ever had.

The beers are so much fun and so diverse. Highly recommend getting a flight to sample the different varieties."
